Adoption Story - Bethel's Brian & Jenn Johnson
The orphan crisis is not a government problem. It's a church problem. God has called His church "to look after the orphan and widow.." (James 1:27) and to "place the lonely in families." (Psalm 68:6)
What would it look like if the church took this charge to heart? What if God's people began opening their homes, in droves, to children placed in the foster care system at no fault of their own? What would it look like if there were a waiting list of parents cleared for adoption when a pregnant woman arrived at an abortion center?
This adoption story from Brian and Jen Johnson of Bethel Music is a powerful picture of what can happen when the church does just that. No not everyone has the means or is in a position to foster or adopt...but all of us have the ability to support those who are. That might be contributing financially to help fund an adoption. It might include getting certified as a respite care giver to allow foster parents a weekend away. At the very least, you can take a meal or help with chores or yard work around the family's home.
We challenge you to watch this story and consider how you can participate in ending the orphan crisis in this nation. A great place to start is by attending our Orphan Care Vision Night in Charlotte on June 2nd. For more info, CLICK HERE.
